INVITATION TO THE ART JEWELRY NIGHT BUDAPEST MAIN COMPETITION
Budapest Jewellery Week by Ékszerek Éjszakája Budapest (with the contribution of FISE non-profit organization) announce open call with the title 0-. The competition is open to professional jewellery designers, to artists who work in different field yet their work is related to jewellery design, and also to students who studies in this specific field.
Topic of this year’s competition:

Summary of the competition:
1. submission of the entries at this point only the photographs, the application form and the application fee are needed to be sent
2. informing the selected artists the chosen artists are asked to send their art pieces in appropriate package to the gallery of FISE at their own expense
3. exhibition opening award ceremony: Art Jewellery Night Award, Autor award, Artcollector’s award by Katalin Spengler (other Awards will be announced later)
Important deadlines:
30.06.2020: Submission deadline
14.07.2020: Expected date of notification
18.09.2020: Expected date of the opening ceremony
18.09-18.10.2020.: Expected duration of the exhibition
Conditions:
We expect jewel that is in compliance with contemporary art jewel’s concept, and were made in the past 2 years (2018-2020). Only the selected pieces will be presented at the exhibition.
One can apply with 1 art piece.
Required documents:
1. Fully completed application form that includes the description of the art piece’s concept. The description must include how the concept of the art piece is related to the topic of the competition. The application form must include the copyright declaration as well. Maximum 600 characters!
2. At least 3 photos (not larger than of 2-2,5 MB, 300 dpi resolution in RGB) from different angles (front, behind and from side) that show the art piece in every detail. Please use the following naming convention:
artist_nameoftheartpiece_yearofmaking.jpg. / It helps if 2 or 3 type of photo is taken: 1. object photos in front of a homogeneous background, 2. model photos that presents how it is worn, 3. not obligatory: if you have other photo of your jewel in a context, so we can use it for social media platforms /
3. Receipt of bank transfer or printscreen of paypal transfer that confirms the payment of the application fee.
We kindly ask you to send all the documents attached to your email. Please do not share a drive folder! Wetransfer folder is not accepted!

By sending the photos applicants accept their usage on the event’s social sites and other online and offline media sites, in order to popularize this event.

The winning participants have no further financial obligations.
We do not refund the application fee in any case.
Participating in the competition does not equal taking part at the exhibition.
The followings will be taken into consideration during the evaluation:
Conveying the artistic message. Genuine composition and material. Professional and technical innovation. Harmony between the design and the idea behind the piece.
Application materials will be inspected by the organizers of the competition. They are responsible for all the entries and applications. If they do not match with the requirements, the applicant will be eliminated. The final decision will be made by a professional independent jury. The results will be sent out to every participant via email.
Delivery of the selected art piece(s)
After evaluation the artists are asked to send their art pieces in the appropriate package to the gallery of FISE at their own expense. More info about postage of the selected piece will be sent via email.
The package cannot exceed 4 kg!
Insurance will be ensured during the exhibition for the exhibited artworks.
The exhibited artworks will be sent back in their original package, two weeks after the end of the exhibition, the latest (November 3 rd ). The cost of the returning package is borne by the artist, including any additional costs that may emerge (e.g. taxes).
The organizers are not responsible for any damage or loss that may be caused by the transfer of the art pieces.
